The Labour Code will introduce the term ‘workplace mentoring’. An employee performs it at the employer’s instruction with the employee’s written consent. Its duration and conditions will be specified in the employment contract or an additional agreement. The employee may end mentoring early, and the employer may also cancel the assignment.
Importantly, this work will receive additional pay.
The law adopted by the State Duma will create conditions for mentoring to develop and help reduce staff turnover, which is highest among young employees.
The document takes effect on 1 March 2025.
