Senator Maria Lvova-Belova has been appointed Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the Russian Federation. The head of state signed the decree on Wednesday, 27 October. The document states that the ombudsman is appointed for five years. In the Federation Council, Maria Lvova-Belova served on the Social Policy Committee. The post was previously held by Anna Kuznetsova, who became a State Duma deputy.
