New subjects
From 1 September 2024, practical work lessons became compulsory for primary and middle-school pupils. In middle and upper grades, Fundamentals of Safety and Defence of the Homeland will replace Fundamentals of Life Safety, combining everyday safety with what children should know about defending their homeland.
No phones during lessons
To prevent distraction, pupils have been prohibited from using personal mobile communication devices during lessons. Mobile phones are the most common example. Exceptions apply in dangerous situations and emergencies. The provision entered into force on its official publication, 19 December 2023.
School discipline
At the end of 2023, requirements for classroom discipline and behaviour at school were also included in student internal rules. Educational institutions develop these rules.
