The State Duma may adopt a complete ban on vapes for minors on 11 April.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced this at the start of the plenary meeting.
"We are urgently preparing a law completely banning vapes for minors. It will cover not only nicotine-containing vapes, which are already partially banned, but the entire range of similar devices. Advertising and display on shop shelves will be banned," Vyacheslav Volodin said.
The State Duma chairman said that after this provision is adopted, amendments to tax legislation will be initiated to multiply excise duties on vapes.
“Since vapes are currently permitted in Belarus and Kazakhstan and we belong to the Eurasian Economic Union, we must find a lawful solution that makes vapes very expensive,” Vyacheslav Volodin noted.
