HELP FOR SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN

A law helping seriously ill children enters into force on 15 May.

A special information resource to support seriously ill children will contain information on stocks of medicines, medical devices and technical rehabilitation aids, and their redistribution between recipient organizations. For children with rare diseases, the resource will contain information on deliveries of medicines and medical devices.

The law banning vape sales to minors has also taken effect, and liability for encouraging minors to smoke has been strengthened.

"We received many appeals from parents and teachers about children vaping. They are concerned about the harm it causes. Vape liquids contain substances that increase the risk of malignancies and can damage the lungs and airways. The law bans sales to minors of vapes, including nicotine-free ones, and their consumables. This decision will protect our children's health," the Chairman of the State Duma stressed.

Vyacheslav Volodin also highlighted two more laws. The first gives the President of Russia additional powers to protect the country and its citizens if unlawful decisions or actions are taken against them. The second introduces liability for assisting in the implementation of unlawful decisions by international bodies to criminally prosecute our military personnel and volunteers, as well as public officials.

‘These laws will protect our country and citizens from unlawful decisions by international bodies, including the International Criminal Court,’ said the Speaker of the State Duma.
