This means financial assistance paid to needy college and university students will not be subject to tax withholding. Currently, these payments are subject to personal income tax if the support exceeds 4,000 rubles.
This financial assistance is received by:
— children without parental care;
Students with health limitations.
Members of low-income families and other categories of students needing support.
The university or college determines the procedure and amount of assistance through local regulations.
