The new law adopted yesterday at third reading.
“Every family in need will receive support,” State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin noted. “Federal and regional budgets will allocate 1.7 trillion rubles for this purpose.”
The unified benefit will combine several existing social support measures: the monthly benefit for pregnant women who register early in pregnancy; the childcare benefit for people not covered by compulsory social insurance for temporary incapacity and maternity; monthly payments following the birth or adoption of a child until age three; and payments for children aged three to seven and eight to 17.
