New law on payment automation
1. Social pensions for children whose parents are both unknown and survivor pensions for minors will be awarded automatically. State Duma deputies adopted the relevant law.
2. A survivor's pension for minor children will also be awarded faster: within five working days of receiving information about the death from the federal population register.
3. The fixed pension payment for service in the Far North and agriculture will also be recalculated without an application.
“Passing the law will prevent situations in which people facing difficult circumstances have to collect certificates and go from office to office to receive payments they are entitled to,” State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
The new law is one of many steps towards automated payments. For example, disability pensions have been awarded without applications since 1 January 2022.
