A bill improving upbringing activities in children’s holiday camps passed its first reading.
"Once the law is adopted, a unified educational programme will be established for children's holiday camps. It is important that children will be taught traditional spiritual and moral values," State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
A federal executive authority will approve the programme and its schedule. Counsellors and educators in all children's camps will organise their work according to these documents.
"The schedule must include parents' days, introducing children to art and literature, film screenings, games and other events aimed at developing patriotism, diligence, mutual respect and care for cultural heritage, nature and the environment," the State Duma chairman stressed.
