Which education expenses can maternity capital cover?
Can be used to pay for:
- children’s education at institutions of any level, from kindergarten to university.
In addition:
- Accommodation provided by the educational institution.
- a child's maintenance, supervision and care at an institution.
How old must the child be?
You usually need to wait until the child turns three. They must be no older than 25 when education begins.
Kindergarten fees are an exception: maternity capital can be used for them immediately after birth.
What requirements apply to organizations?
The organization must be located in Russia and have the appropriate licence. The State Duma also adopted a law allowing payment for a child’s education provided by individual entrepreneurs. Previously, such payments could be refused.
Whose education can be paid for?
Maternity capital can pay for the education of any child in the family, not only the child whose birth gave rise to entitlement to the certificate. It can also fund the education of several children at once.
