The State Duma chairman urged deputies to support children of special military operation participants

He believes deputies can help with university dormitories and other social issues in their constituencies, for example.

‘Let us each look in our electoral districts at where the children of participants in the special military operation are studying, so that their universities help them with dormitories and other social issues are resolved. Their fathers are fighting; some parents have died defending our country. Let us care for these young people. They are our children,’ Vyacheslav Volodin said.

Earlier, Sergei Kabyshev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, briefed deputies on implementation of the law granting university admission benefits to participants in the special military operation and their family members. He said that 1,200 participants and 8,200 family members entered Russian universities this year. They mainly chose general medicine, teaching-related programmes and information technology.
