Amendments to the Education Law passed their first reading today.

We previously discussed two related issues with you: banning phones in lessons and teaching children about work.

Deputies decided to revise the bill taking your proposals into account.

We will introduce amendments at second reading:

1. Phones will be banned during lessons except in emergencies, with no other excuses.

2. Practical labour lessons will return to schools as a compulsory subject. Labour education is an integral part of education. Diligence is a strong foundation for children’s development and growth, and a key to future success.

We plan to consider the amendments in early December.
