"The bills were prepared on President Vladimir Putin's instructions. This decision will provide additional support to families with children, especially young mothers," State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin noted.
"Women often have to return from childcare leave before their child reaches one and a half, mainly because the family lacks money. Under the current law, a mother automatically loses her childcare benefit when she returns to work. The amendments adopted by the State Duma today will allow her to retain the payments," Vyacheslav Volodin said.
According to the Speaker, average childcare benefit until one and a half will be 17,800 rubles in 2024. ‘All necessary funds are already included in the draft federal budget for 2024–2026, which the Duma plans to consider at second reading on 15 November,’ Vyacheslav Volodin added.
